Summer Camp - Week 1

On Tuesday, we went on a tour of Microsoft...well we played video games and searched the web (the girls watched Justin Bieber videos). I was hoping to see more of the "behind the scenes" of Microsoft...maybe meet Bill Gates!?!?!

On Thursday, we went to the Museum of Flight in Seattle. We were the first to see the new Sesame Street Planetarium movie. It was fun to relax and take an imaginary flight through the stars!! The kids loved hangin out at the Flight Zone (its like going to a small version of the children`s museum). The boys liked to sit in the cockpit of the planes and pretend they were flying. We all enjoyed seeing the strange looking planes and checking out the new World War II wing.

Today we went to three parks and we played, played, and played. My favorite park was at Silver Lake. The weather was not that great (no swimming today) but it was fun to sit at the beach, watch the kids play in the sand, and see the fishermen out on the lake.

Father`s Day Trip

Papa went deep sea fishin for Father`s Day. He caught some rockfish and a salmon that was 31 inches long and weighed 9 1/2 pounds. Oh happy day!!!

While Papa was out on the boat, Nana & I went shopping. We also drove around and I took a few pictures of some interesting Westport sights. Here is a pic of the police dummy that is always watching guard of the Westport streets. He looks kinda real...little creepy!

Here is a pic of the new guy in town. Big Foot sighting...is that a kid`s swing on his head?

Nana booked our hotel in Ocean Shores. Oops... It was a about an hour and half drive from Westport. We really had a nice place to stay and it was lots of fun. The drive was very beautiful too and we also saw three deer on our way over to Westport (sorry no pics of the deer because it was 3am in the morning).

On our last day at Ocean Shores, we drove down to the beach. It was a beautiful and sunny morning. The waves were huge and we got to see this one-legged seagull.

Papa had to buy some ice for his salmon. The McDonalds in Ocean Shores sales it in 8 pound bags for $1.25.

In Aberdeen, we visited this awesome Shell Station. Its sorta of a "down memory lane" museum filled with old cars, Shell signs, Coke Cola stuff, oil cans, and old gas pumps. Papa loved seeing the old cars and showing me how the gas pumps use to work.

The last stop of our trip was at the Cabela`s in Lacey. The two-floor store was huge with escalators & elevators. We saw the fish cave, ate at the diner (Papa got the Angler Meal with fish & chips and Nana & I got Cheesy Fries & Onion Rings), and did some target practicing at the Mountain View Shooting Gallery. The store reminded us of being in Frontierland and Critter Country at Disneyland.

It was a wonderful, fun, and relaxing trip. We love you Papa!! Happy Father`s Day!!!

Arlington Car Show

On Saturday, Papa and Nana took the grandkids to a car show. The kids were very excited to go and I think that they were hoping to see Herbie the Luv Bug. They did see a "Bug" and some Model "T"s which Emma called "Jeeps".  Papa was happy to get his picture taken by the 62` Chevy and Nana enjoyed seeing her 57` Chevys. Emily did most of the photography and all together they took over 70 pictures of all the old cars. The girls also enjoyed stopping for shaved ice, kettle corn, and powdered mini donuts (Elsie called them floured donuts).
