December Daily- Day 25

Christmas was a pretty crazy day for us. I had gotten sick the night before and could barely hold my head up. We all decided to leave for home early. The car had also been acting a little funny. The battery warning light came on. Lucky we made it over the pass. After leaving Skykomish, the car was hardly running and Nana had to keep her foot flat on the gas. Aunt Katherine made a call to Aunt Sharon to come pick us up. She told her that we would be somewhere on Highway 2 and that we would keep driving as far as we could. So we got about 10 miles east of Gold Bar and the car completely died. The car is all power so Nana lost the steering and brakes. Thanks to God, He got us over to the side of the road safely. We were in the middle of no where and had no cell service. Nana called 911 and they sent us a tow. Papa and I worked at getting the flares started. It was raining and they didn`t want to start but we did get one lighted and used it to light the other one. They did not last very long because of the wind and rain. Then we tried to call Aunt Sharon again but had no phone service so I walked up the road a little ways and got a hold of her and told her where about we were. After about an hour, the tow arrived. The tow guy was very nice and waited for our ride to come then we all headed for the car dealership. We had to leave the van at the dealership because it was closed for the holiday. The next day it got fixed and cost Nana & Papa about $1000. What a Christmas to remember!!

December Daily- Day 24

On Christmas Eve, we took a road trip to Leavenworth and Wenatchee. It was a beautiful drive up to the pass. We saw alot of snow and frozen waterfalls. In Leavenworth, we ate lunch, looked around at the shops, Papa bought me a new ornament and Aunt Katherine bought some reindeer poop at the fudge shop. We stayed the night in Wenatchee. In the evening, we played canasta and went out to eat at a mexican restaurant. It was fun to travel with Aunt Katherine and spend time with family.
