Day 14- The Ozarks

Today we headed into the Ozarks to visit at Grandma Casey`s house. On the long gravel drive, we saw the fall colors on the trees, beautiful flowers and very large bugs. We had a giant bug land on our windshield. Gross!! Nana saw a black snake on the road and screamed very loud (she scared Auntie & Papa). Papa said that it was a black chicken snake. These kinds of snakes will steal eggs out of hen houses, swallow the eggs whole then wrap themselves around a tree to crush the egg inside of them. They will also eat small rabbits.

Everyone was surprised to see us. We visited Grandma first and saw some of her cats (she has five). As usual, we had alot of good laughs with her. Then we went over to Uncle Eddie`s house. We enjoyed visiting with him and his family. Wava shared some stories from her trip to Washington State. Grandma had some shopping to do so we took her into town to meet up with Uncle Jerry. We also got to see Uncle Sandy at Walmart and we did a little shopping with Sheryl. The Walmart in Arkansas has camouflage everywhere and alot of hunting gear (tents, fake birds, real dead trees, hunter tree stands, and so much more). Then we went over to Sheryl`s place and visited with her family. Her son JR has really grown fast. We can`t believe that he is already 3 years old. On our last visit, he was just a little baby. It was a very busy day and we had a great time with our family.

Papa went to Edwards because he wanted to buy a Arkansas watermelon. They did not have watermelons but they did have yummy sweet potato pie to try. The pie tasted like pumpkin pie but a little more spicy.
 Really green bananas....
Papa finally found a watermelon on our second visit to Walmart. We were so tired when we got back to the motel that we didn`t even take the time to cut and eat it. Tonight we rest and tomorrow we feast.

Day 13- Harrison, Arkansas

On Thursday, we visited the Arkansas Diamond State Park. When we arrived, it was 90 degrees and everyone felt very, very hot. We decided to visit the Diamond State Park Center and to not dig for diamonds. I personally did not want to pass out while attempting to look for a diamond. Also the park did not guarantee that we would find one. We all decided that it would not be worth getting all hot and sweating for so we headed to Harrison. Papa called Grandma Casey and she was happy to hear that we were coming to visit her. We took Highway 7 into Jasper and ate dinner there. The highway was very beautiful and we stopped at Scenic Point. The view was spectacular!! We landed in Harrison, Arkansas and are very excited to visit everyone tomorrow.

Day 12- Shawnee, Oklahoma

We have been traveling all day through desert, mountains, and farm lands. In New Mexico, we saw these crazy lookin` buried cars and in Texas, a very large cross. We also saw many beautiful trees and flowers in Oklahoma.

We landed in Shawnee, Oklahoma. The motel that we stayed in was very scary lookin` and the hallways were full of cigarette smell. Nana covered our room door with a motel blanket and clothes softeners. She hoped that it would keep the smell out of our room. We left the next day in the early mornin` and headed for the Arkansas Diamond Fields.

Day 11- Albuquerque, New Mexico

Today we left California (early morning) and we drove, drove and drove. We got through California & Arizona and landed in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The day was very long and we are all super tired.

Day 10- Disneyland- Part III

Happy Birthday in Disneyland!! Papa bought Auntie Brenda a birthday cupcake at Disney Bakery. It was a very yummy pumpkin spice cake with a chocolate Mickey Mouse candy on top.
We decided to ride Splash Mountain on our last day at the park. Nana and Auntie set up front and got very soaked. After the ride, Nana bought a "Small World" blanket to keep warm. We also went on Indiana Jones, Alice in Wonderland ride, Roger Rabbit Spin, and the Disney train.

Our final destination of the day was Downtown Disney. Nana wanted to do some shopping at her fave place, Marceline`s Confectionery. Papa liked playing with the toy guns at the World of Disney and Auntie had fun looking in the Lego store. We have really enjoyed our long visit to the Magic Kingdom. It has been great to be little kids for a few days!!
