Day 14- The Ozarks

Today we headed into the Ozarks to visit at Grandma Casey`s house. On the long gravel drive, we saw the fall colors on the trees, beautiful flowers and very large bugs. We had a giant bug land on our windshield. Gross!! Nana saw a black snake on the road and screamed very loud (she scared Auntie & Papa). Papa said that it was a black chicken snake. These kinds of snakes will steal eggs out of hen houses, swallow the eggs whole then wrap themselves around a tree to crush the egg inside of them. They will also eat small rabbits.

Everyone was surprised to see us. We visited Grandma first and saw some of her cats (she has five). As usual, we had alot of good laughs with her. Then we went over to Uncle Eddie`s house. We enjoyed visiting with him and his family. Wava shared some stories from her trip to Washington State. Grandma had some shopping to do so we took her into town to meet up with Uncle Jerry. We also got to see Uncle Sandy at Walmart and we did a little shopping with Sheryl. The Walmart in Arkansas has camouflage everywhere and alot of hunting gear (tents, fake birds, real dead trees, hunter tree stands, and so much more). Then we went over to Sheryl`s place and visited with her family. Her son JR has really grown fast. We can`t believe that he is already 3 years old. On our last visit, he was just a little baby. It was a very busy day and we had a great time with our family.

Papa went to Edwards because he wanted to buy a Arkansas watermelon. They did not have watermelons but they did have yummy sweet potato pie to try. The pie tasted like pumpkin pie but a little more spicy.
 Really green bananas....
Papa finally found a watermelon on our second visit to Walmart. We were so tired when we got back to the motel that we didn`t even take the time to cut and eat it. Tonight we rest and tomorrow we feast.
